Description

Sanwa, or barnyard, is another type of millet that is nutritionally dense with high fiber content. If you are planning to lose weight, then incorporating it into your diet can do wonders for your overall well-being. Sanwa is rich in calcium and phosphorous, which helps in bone-building

Barnyard millet is a wild seed grown in hilly areas. It is known to be rich in fiber and low in calories. Furthermore, it is gluten-free with high calcium and phosphorus contents. This type of millet is a good source of iron and produces antioxidants that help to maintain body temperature.

It is an excellent substitute for rice as it contains higher crude fiber that controls hunger pangs.

  1. Sobha

Oh my! This was one thing I always wanted to switch to from the reguly grain “rice” due to its health benefits. Finally I made this a few times and the pack lasts more than a month for me. Using less than half a cup of Millet would be sufficient for one person. It just fluffs up when soaked overnight or 1 hour prior to cooking in case there is no time to soak. But soaking will reduce the time of cooking and the water used tlfor cooking will soak up less.
